311 North Morgan

In July 2017, Ace Hotel opened its first Midwest location in the Fulton Market neighborhood of Chicago. The 159-key boutique hotel, designed by GREC Architects, brings new life to a former Italian-American cheesemaking factory located at 311 North Morgan Street, just across the street from Sterling Bay's 1KFulton development.

Los Angeles-based collective Commune Design created the vision for the Chicago Ace, pulling cues from the city’s design heroes Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Bertrand Goldberg, Frank Lloyd Wright and Walter Netsch. Commune and Ace also worked collaboratively with a host of local and regional students, artists, designers and retailers to create a place that celebrates the nature of the city.

Ace's full-service restaurant, City Mouse, is a concept from the popular team behind Logan Square's Giant restaurant and is headed by executive chef Pat Sheerin (ex-Trencherman). The hotel also features a rooftop terrace and bar, and Portland-based Stumptown Coffee's first café in the Midwest.
